The Full Story

THE FOUNDERS

During 2020, Philip Davis (Write Inspired)  & Sam Petter (Tatty Bumpkin) collaborated to create a set of resources for Early Years & Primary education practitioners. Phil is experienced educator & musician with over 30 years experience, Sam is an artist, yoga teacher & has been inspiring young children to access the benefits of creativity & yoga for 20 years.

Sam Petter is an artist, designer & business woman, with over 20 years teaching yoga. In 2004 she founded Tatty Bumpkin, the UKs longest running children's yoga company. She has won Kent Business woman of the year in 2018 & been runner up in 2022 & 2023. In 2023 Sam won emerging international franchisor of the year in the Franchise India awards.

Tatty Bumpkin has been at the forefront of wellbeing in education, & the experienced gained working with nurseries & schools in this sector led to the collaboration with Phil Davis & the creation of The Whole of Me.

"My passion is weaving creativity & the joy of movement, through playful yoga poses. I hope to help young children to learn life skills such as relaxation & techniques for managing stress, as well as confidence in their bodies, setting them up to be lifelong learners."

Philip Davis is the creator of Write Inspired. He started his career as a teacher for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and moved on to mainstream classroom teaching where he developed his unique pedagogy to develop writing and inspire a more creative approach to all teaching and learning.

He was soon speaking at conferences and running his acclaimed courses on creativity in the classroom particularly around the development of language.

Write Inspired started in 2014 to put all his work under one banner.

He is the creator of numerous resources including the Beat it series, Sounds inspirational and Picture the Music create, all designed to inspire and motivate writing and self expression.

He has worked in schools all over the UK and beyond including schools in Oman, Kuwait, Singapore, Norway, Hong Kong, China, The Netherlands, Portugal and Belgium.

He is also working as a research associate for a paper on the importance of creativity in the classroom at Kings College London.
